Easy and Light Chocolate Mousse

I accidentally made this "mousse" several years ago.  Honestly, now I don't even remember what I was trying to make at the time, but it ended up being a quick, healthier mousse that we all love now!  It is super easy to make and super delicious.  It's rich but has a nice tang from the yogurt.  I'm not afraid of fat at all...but if you want a lighter treat, this is your recipe!

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter I use Kerrigold butter
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips I use bittersweet
  • 3/4 cup Greek yogurt This recipe works better with Greek yogurt because its thicker.
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter -optional Regular pb has sugar...yuck


  1. Melt butter in a small pan.

  2. Add in chocolate chips and peanut butter (if using).  Stir until melted.

  3. Seperate yogurt into two 1/2 cup serving bowls.  

  4. Divide chocolate mixture between two bowls.  Thoroughly mix.  

  5. optional - for a more "mousse" like consistency, cover and leave in refrigerator for a few hours.  However, it still delicious eaten right away.  Ours rarely make it to the refrigerator!  Ha!  But if you really want the mousse like consistency, then in the refrigerator it must go!
