What interesting things can I tell you about myself? I have been married to an amazing man for almost 20 years. We have four kids. I’m a teacher by profession. However, for the last few years I have homeschooled. It’s been great to be home with my kids! Especially when SURPRISE!!!!!!! YOU’RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY EVEN THOUGH YOUR LAST CHILD WAS BORN 9 YEARS AGO AND YOU ARE ALMOST 40 AND YOU ARE TOTALLY USED TO SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!! Ok…I’m ok. Really…I am. Well my little guy is almost two now so I think I’ve finally moved past the shock stage and into reality. Seriously though, he is a MAJOR cutie! Having another baby has definitely changed my life in a way that having the others just didn’t. I’ve learned a lot about myself as a mother, wife, and friend since I became pregnant with my last little. I’ll come back to that in a bit.
So I’m kind of an all over the place person. I like so many different types of music, food, styles, colors…everything! I just don’t fall into one category of anything! Honestly, sometimes this actually frustrates me. But I’ve decided that it helps me relate to more people. And, well, it’s just fun to not be able to make up my mind about something. Not really! Especially with food. I LOVE food. All food! Except for lima beans and tripe. Yuck.
See! I love it so much that I had to put it in bold lettering! Ha! Seriously though, I love food. I love cooking, baking, eating and sharing…sometimes…I love sharing… sometimes. Especially when it comes to dessert. DO NOT ASK FOR A BITE OF MY DESSERT. I love cooking for others though. It fills my heart to overflowing to cook for someone and see how happy it makes them. I think my love language is food. If you tell me what your favorite food is, I will try my best to cook it for you as much as possible. I also LOVE to make coffee for people. It is just so comforting isn’t it? Imagine a nice, warm slice of fresh, apple pie and a beautiful cup of coffee. Oh! Comfort and friendship is what that makes me think of.
There have been so many lessons that I’ve learned during the years. One very important lesson is to have grace for myself! Holy Cow (Santa Vaca! I love saying Holy Cow in Spanish…it sounds so much funnier!) ladies! We put so much pressure on ourselves! Can we stop for a second and just breathe? I pray that this blog will be a place where you will be able to find such grace as well as some humor, acceptance, great tips, and friendship. I hope to encourage you in the areas of motherhood and marriage. I think being married for 20 years now has allowed me to learn some valuable lessons that I can share with you. I’ve also been a mom for almost 20 years. So again, motherhood experience that I can share with you. Soooo…grab a great cup of coffee, or coffee that’s been warmed up 10 times already because you keep forgetting about it, and lean in. Join in on this journey of womanhood with me.
