Who doesn’t just love drinking a tall glass of refreshing lemonade during the hot months of summer? Wouldn’t you love a summer drink that is just as refreshing but has the added benefit of pure hydration and added vitamins and minerals?
Just say YES!
Oh good. I’m glad you said yes. You’re so obedient! Ha ha…
This drink started out as pure watermelon and a bit of water. Then one day, I added frozen strawberries. Soooo good. Then I got the idea to add in some lime. Even better! No sweetener needed.
Did you know that watermelon has a ton of nutritional benefits?
Watermelon is 92% water. This right here makes drinking watermelon juice a no brainer.
Strawberry Watermelon Lemonade
This strawberry watermelon lemonade is amazingly refreshing! It began as watermelon juice and I've added to it over time until it became this delicious drink. If your watermelon is super sweet, then you can use fewer strawberries if you'd like. Either way, it will be yummy!
This is one of our go-to drinks during the summer when the kids and their friends are out in the pool, or we just need a hydrating and tasty drink. It gets HOT here in Phoenix in the summer. We need all of the hydrating drinks that we can get!
- 7 cups watermelon, chopped
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 1/2 lemon, juiced Lime can be used instead of lemon
- 1 cup water
Add water and watermelon into a blender. Blend well.
Add in strawberries and lemon juice. Blend until strawberries are completely pureed.
If you don't have frozen strawberries, add in a cup or two of ice. It really is better with frozen strawberries though! Also, for an interesting twist, use coconut water instead of water in this recipe. Adding in a few mint leaves makes a super yummy addition as well!
